Objectives: Test the Official Washington State Parks Pocket Ranger® App as a new mobile media to efficiently reach all park visitors interested in hiking and related outdoor activities. Gain awareness for Hi-Tec hiking boots and drive visitation to its online site.

Solution: Beginning in August, 2015, Hi-Tec ad banners were conspicuously placed within all “hiking” editorial sections of the WA Pocket Ranger® app, effectively giving Hi-Tec exclusive ownership of these sections and 100% SOV for the category.

Result: Hi-Tec saw immediate increased traffic to its site from app users and is planning to significantly broaden its participation on the Pocket Ranger® platform in 2016 to include all apps and social media channels.
